India Consul General Prakash Gupta visits WSU Spokane

India Consul General Prakash Gupta, based in the new India Consulate in Seattle, visited the WSU Spokane Health Sciences campus on September 17 to learn about ongoing medical and pharmacy research. Consul General Gupta wants to develop partnerships between universities and companies in the Inland Northwest and India.

The visit included tours and presentations at the Sleep and Performance Research Center, the Steve Gleason Institute for Neuroscience, and the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The Consul General was impressed with the high quality of the research being conducted and expressed optimism that partnerships could be established between WSU Health Sciences and like institutions in India for the betterment of each institution and the people they serve.

Consul General Gupta also met with Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown and traveled to Pullman to visit the main Washington State University Campus. India’s Seattle Consulate is planning another visit to Spokane with Indian technology business leaders in early 2025.
